The site for this house was a comparatively tight one with an irregular shaped block next to a railway line. The big positive for the site is that once you look over the railway line there are uninterrupted bay views.
This means that all the main living areas and the main bedroom are located on the first floor. The other bedrooms and private living space with a private garden and pool area are at ground floor.
The curved roof shape satisfies a few design requirements. It encloses at attic space and balcony within strict height limits. It also elegantly wraps and roofs the house over an irregular plan while providing dramatic visual interest.
